The reason for the lab
Start with what you want the system to protect.
This is not a lab about collecting AI tools or making a business move faster for its own sake. It is about building a small, grounded system around work you care about—so there is more room for the work only you can do.
Rob has built these tools slowly to protect more presence with the land, his community, and his creative gifts. Your starting point may be different. The question is the same: what do you want your project to make more possible?
Chat → system
A chat gives you one response. An agentic system gives a project repeatable help: clear instructions, trusted material, small tools, and a way to check the work.
Cloud → local
Cloud work sends a request to a remote service. Local work happens on your own computer, where you can choose what stays close, what travels out, and when.
Project → scaffolding
A local agentic brain is a practical support structure around a venture or creative project: it can organize approved material, prepare drafts, find patterns, and leave decisions with you.
You remain the operator.
A good system does not replace judgment, relationships, or creative direction. It helps name the next useful action, shows its work, and returns the real decisions to a person.
Build with restraint.
We will look honestly at privacy, energy, and ecological impact—choosing smaller or local tools when they fit, using larger cloud models deliberately, and not treating more automation as automatically better.
Come with something real. Bring one venture, creative project, or body of work. You will leave with a clearer picture of the smallest system that could support it without pulling it away from its purpose.
